Define the product and market

Start with the product’s intended use and the market in which it will be placed. Determine the applicable legal framework and assessment route with a qualified specialist. CE marking applies only where relevant EU legislation requires it.

Build the technical record

The preparation pack can include product identification, specifications, risk or performance records, test results, declarations and traceable supplier inputs. Which records are required depends on the applicable route. Third-party involvement is route-specific.

Prepare environmental evidence separately

An environmental declaration, ecolabel or bio-based material claim has a different scope and methodology. One record does not automatically establish every environmental claim. Define the boundary, method, verification status and source of each claim.

Use the hub for preparation

Map records to the selected requirements, identify missing tests and assign owners. A product case can help coordinate the pack for a qualified testing or assessment body. It does not grant a CE mark or certify an environmental claim.

Choose a body by scope

Check the legal entity, accreditation or designation, relevant product scope and destination-market acceptance. Obtain a scoped proposal before arranging external assessment. Use current official registers and a qualified advisor for the final route.
