Start with the decision
A company can have many sustainability goals. The useful first step is to identify the decision the evidence must support: a buyer onboarding process, a management-system assessment, a product market-access route, a building label or a lender review. Each route has its own boundaries.
Define the scope
Write down the organization, product or project involved, the destination market, the intended use and the assessment route. Record who owns the work and which edition of the requirements is being used. An unclear scope turns an evidence collection exercise into a growing folder with no reliable conclusion.
Connect records to requirements
Assign each requirement a source, an owner and a supporting record. Record the date and the limit of what that record proves. A policy shows a stated commitment; operational records help show implementation. Keep those distinctions visible.
Close the gaps
Create an action register for missing or outdated evidence. Give each action an owner and a deadline. Ask a reviewer who did not prepare the work to examine the case before external handoff.
Keep the outcome precise
Readiness is a preparation status within a defined scope. An external certification or approval remains the decision of the relevant body. Start a scoped case in the hub to organize your first evidence checklist.
